INNER ARTIST:  MAKING ART WORK

3 Inspiration Ideas For Your Next Bathroom Upgrade | Inner Artist

August 7, 2017

A bathroom upgrade is necessary every few years. Today I’m helping you with some significant changes I believe are necessary to make your bathrooms beautiful!

When was the last time your bathroom had an upgrade? There’s nothing like sprucing up the place you are supposed to relax and rejuvenate yourself in. Here are a few improvements I believe are worth implementing to make your bathroom your own peaceful oasis.

Wall Colors

When upgrading your bathroom, a good color change in the walls can make a big difference. Bathrooms should be light and bright, so I feel that sticking with lighter colors is best for the main bathroom. For smaller powder rooms you can go to town and do any paint color or wallpaper to make the change impactful.

Floor Upgrade

The most important but the most expensive thing I believe every homeowner should have upgraded in their bathrooms are the floors. Yes, it is the most expensive and the most time consuming, but it will make such a huge difference in your bathroom. Nothing will be timeless so make sure you install what you love.

In my experience, choosing a tile color, whether dark or light, is a preference thing, it also depends on the bathroom. Darker floors hide more dust and dirt, not that you would want a dirty floor, but you also don't want to have to clean your floors every day. Because darker floors won't show all the dirt, it works perfectly for the main bathroom like the master bathroom, or the one for your kids use to get ready for the day. A pattern or a bit of natural movement (like marble) is a great option for people that want lighter floors.

Artwork

Artwork for the bathroom can be many things. If it is the master bath maybe you want a more serious look, you can go with an abstract painting or moody photographs in black and white or sepia. For a more everyday or playful look, you can have florals or patterns, like an ikat. For the kid’s bathrooms, you can have fun with quotes and bright colors. For powder baths, I love fun bold art walls or over-sized impact pieces.
