You might love the look you have already, or maybe you're looking for a way to spice up your home, but either way let's take a look at a new concept. If you are looking for a new look, then you're in luck. This week we will be doing a series on a new home trend for the new year focusing on the beauty of dark walls!
A less-thought-of color tone for home design, this deep rich look (and current trend) can spruce up your home.
Lots of things pair well with a bold wall color, but we're going to dive into the options for furniture, art, and textiles!
Dark furniture can work well with Dark walls. It sets a mood of neutrals and a clean palette. Just make sure you add other layers and textures to bring a touch of variety. The brown leather is beautiful with the light fur and the different patterned pillows add interest as well. The white shelves above hold a nice balance to the weight of the sofa.
Adding a beautiful bold color to jump off of the dark wall adds personality and pop. This luxurious golden yellow velvet just calls to you and adds a touch of sophistication. Tie in some of the darker color into items like the throw or pillow to again, create a bit of balance...and is a great way to keep your toes warm too. Furniture pieces like this chair create a cozy space with a warm ambiance.
A bold piece of art can bring a dark wall to life and be as much a great backdrop to showcase artwork as a clean white wall.
Or...sometimes simple is the best way to go when it comes to adding artwork to your walls. When you've already got a bold look like these walls, you don't want to over do it with a lot of visual interest inside the frame.
Dark walls make for an optimum blank canvas but we'll go more in-depth into this concept on Wednesday in our next blog in this series.
